Re: Booze

I found this to be an age-related thing in my case. After hitting around 36yrs booze hit me pretty hard in terms of recovery, training, body composition. Before that I could get away with a lot more...some of you here are no doubt familiar with showing up to morning pt still hungover...once upon a t...

Re: FortyP's 9 sets of Deadlift per week log

SPECIAL TESTING DAY BONUS EDITION Warm-up : I walked to the gym at a decent clip with 10-15 pounds on my back in a backpack. I was ready to go when I got there; listening to some heavy Devin Townsend Project along the way probably helped. Reminder: previous 1RM test for DL was 302. Body weight at t...

Re: Having trouble doing Back Squats

In addition to what everyone's saying, imo you are the perfect candidate for traditional Base Building. - Use back squats and any other lift you have problems with in your SE cluster - make sure you learn and implement correct form through a coach or aforementioned resources - goes without saying o...

Re: TBer reaches 1000lb club with Operator..

https://www.reddit.com/r/Fitness/comments/7b99wi/tactical_barbell_progress/ His results are impressive after just 6 weeks on Op. No surprise to most of us here, but what's interesting to me is his deadlift set-up. He does them 3 x week, 1 work set per session. Personally I can't handle that kind of...

Re: Fewer people posting?

Less members on this that others I’ve floated around on. For example strongfirst seems to have a wide variety of members and a lot more sub sections to post, there’s a lot of knowledgeable members on that one, but also some bs topics as well. I’ve gotten the best help and advice on this forum than ...

Re: How to count your sports in the conditioning protocol

Thanks to KB and the others for the valuable feedback. I think I read Starting Strength 400 times and all the TB books 200 times. Well, maybe 7 times each, but in really good detail. :D Every time I read a section again or post a question here on the forum, I learn something new, which is awesome. ...

Re: Right thigh numbness/nerve burning feeling

Yes had a pinch in my shoulder which caused pins and needles/minor numbness in parts of one hand. Tried something a little unorthodox which ended up working: inversion. Stretched everything out, tingling gone.

Re: Reading List

Is the Snowman part of a longer detective series? Sounds vaguely familiar. It is book 7 in the "Harry Hole" (fantastic name) series. I read the first one and skipped ahead to finish it before the movie comes out this month. It's Norwegian I believe. I'd compare it to Michael Connelly but ...

Re: Help me think about HIC sprint workouts

At least for me, the confusion is defining max effort... Is it starting at an all-out sprint and ending by barely being able to walk? Or is it going the speed that you can finish each 600 but leaving everything on the table, so to speak? I can't imagine a 400m sprinter isn't giving max effort, but ...
