Re: Mass Protocol Base Building Question

Nah, let it be easy, that is by design. Remind yourself that there are not that many Day 1 workouts left, and even if your change could make things better, the effect would be trivial overall.

Re: Over 50’s Club

Something very common in 50+ yo people is disrupted sleep. See e.g. https://medlineplus.gov/ency/article/004018.htm You can find a lot more if you want to read about it. The worst of it for me was waking up very early - no real way to go back to sleep before it was time to get up for work. What can ...

Re: Over 50’s Club

Gents, mid-50s you either recently went through some changes, are currently going through some changes, or are coming up on some notable changes. What is going on?

Re: TB without bench/ohp/squat

The aftermath of surgeries can really suck. Good luck with that. Building on The Wolf's idea - you should be able to put together a functional "rack" or two for less than the cost of one of those large kettlebells. Basically sawhorses or something like them. This would allow you to do bott...

Re: Over 50’s Club

Hey Gilly, welcome. I think there are a decent number of posts from over 50s in the over 40 club thread, even a few from the over-60. You are very right though, over 50 is considerably different from over 40. 40-45 really isn't much different from the 30s. I hope you will contribute your experiences...

Re: After 40 club

Hey cwdell, welcome. Some thoughts on PUs, WPUs for you to consider. If you can do 11 - 12 BW reps clean - your BW is the equivalent of your 75% or 80% weight in TB (assuming you to be using a TM). If not using a TM, maybe about your 70% load. You didn't give your BW, but once you add 10% of your BW...

Re: After 40 club

I’d think you mean strength/muscle maintenance by “scaling up” in a sense of different approach to lifting volume and exercise selections. Well I do find myself in stubborn mode trying to pretend I can keep increasing my TM from block to block like good old times. Well… Exercise selection - no chan...

Re: After 40 club

Very true. Being at 53 I realize that mid 40-s was an easy stroll.. Especially when it comes to recovery, injury and then some.. Not intending to discourage you, but the later changes are "different." They take different adjustments than just scaling back, in fact some require what feels ...

Re: After 40 club

Good share Bark.

The one thing that I never see in these kinds of articles is any discussion of how the body changes over time. 40 - 45 was only slightly different than the 30s. But early 60s is much different than early 50s, and from what I've gathered, some other big changes come after.

Thanks.
You'll be fine. Suggest using a training max to start, and don't modify or expand the template.
