Re: Dealing with physical pain

I have only had to address acute pain — in daily living, excruciating menstrual cramps or a back spasm, and in athletic pursuits the pain felt toward the end of a marathon, or most recently (last weekend) during a GORUCK 12 hour event. I find breathing meditation (mindfulness) the most effective tec...

Re: Sandbag Training

On iOS & Android, the “Brute Force” app presents WODS geared around Sandbags with a few body weight exercises. Nice suggestions (and animated gifs) of different exercises you can do with them.

Re: How to increase chin up numbers?

If your specific goal is to increase chin-up reps, you could also consider putting a different lift in your cluster, and using the "grease the groove" method to build up your reps to 10. For grease the groove, you'd hang a bar where you pass it repeatedly during the day, and do a few reps ...

Re: crnewhouse TB Training Log

Excellent - thank you! I have found in the past that running 4 x / week in combination with other training, with 1 long run day, is ideal for me in long-distance running. Enough to prepare but not so much that I get burned out or injured.

Re: TB for women.

Right now, I do 3 x 5. I wish I could get another set in, but my schedule is pretty tight and I usually don't have the time.

It might be interesting to see how a 5 x 3 scheme would work for me...perhaps I will try a block of that at some point & report back. :)

Re: crnewhouse TB Training Log

Following this, I will move onto Figher Bangkok with the Green protocol to get ready for a half marathon in February. I am toying with running the 3M Half Marathon in February--it is a great race and a great time of year to race. How many times/week will you end up running using Green? (I guess I c...

Re: TB for women.

Chiming in as a female who's been running TB programs for much of this year. I second the suggestion to use a training max, but otherwise just run the programs as written. I have run Fighter both with and without training max and when I did not use the training max, I was unable to complete all the ...

Re: Member Introductions Thread

46 y/o female here, found TB earlier this year on reddit while trying to educate myself on how to progress with both lifting and aerobic fitness, while also training hard to compete with the 20-somethings for a starting spot on the roster for my Gaelic football team. I was sick the entire month of M...
