Great points Jim. I too prefer using 10 crisp swings instead of 20.
On a related note, since there are posters here that run team PT, I'll add that for group training Bloody Lungs works well as an alternative to Apex.

Thank you for the reference! Lately I've been looking all over the place for "Spartan Laconic" phrases...I'm assuming this might contain some?Shivayan wrote:A good source of quotes is "On Sparta," by Plutarch.

Re: Squat vs Deadlift
In my experience it doesn't work the other way. The weak links when deadlifting tend to be grip and lower back. Whereas the weak point with the squat is generally the legs. The grip and lower back tend to fatigue much more quickly than the legs, so DL'ng capacity tends to be lower as compared to th...

Re: Favorite Quotes & Excerpts?
Excellent topic.. I love me some good quotes. This was one I'd never come across until TB2 via K.B. It's Musashi , and I think it's the perfect representation of the state of the fitness industry (and others). Amazing that this was an issue even back in Musashi's day. Some things never change I gues...

I love the Walking Dead, but someone needs to teach them the concept of occasional comic relief.MuftiMike wrote:3rd! I'm a little late to the Netflix party, but I also recommend the Walking Dead. Don't start watching it if you have to get anything done....you've been warned!

Don't Overlook Triples
Guys, Triples are absolutely fabulous for getting in your E work in a sport specific way. I don't hear much chatter about them. If you're a fighter-- use them! This one works well for us: Jump Rope x 5 Battle Ropes x 10 Run x 10 Shadow Box x 5 x 1 - 2 rounds Simple. Effective. Good to switch it up w...
