Starting what I hope will be my plan to carry me through Summer. The running portion is based on the book Train Smart,
Run Forever. This is based on the FIRST program from Furman U which has been around quite a while. The FIRST program
is 3 days running and 2 days cross training. The running workouts are mileage and pace based and I found them to be too
much when I tried the plan several years ago. The TSRF plan is time and RPE based so hopefully I will be better suited that
that. The strength portion will be TB Fighter. Cluster is front squat, bench and swings with weighted lunges added.

60 year old male, 6'4", 210#

I had surgery for a detached retina in June of 2020 in my right eye and another one in my left eye in April of 2021. Each operation was followed by ~3 months of low activity to allow the eyes to heal. About 2 months of nothing but daily walking and then building up with some easy calisthenics and finally weights and running.

Since the last incident I did a stint of FT and then some random KB stuff while running an 80/20 5K plan. (Level 0, 3 days a week). I did a 5k a few weeks ago and was pretty happy with the result. I was thinking about running the same 5k plan again but then "Green" came out. The question in my mind has always been what type of run training is best for someone my age - high intensity, low volume or low intensity, high volume. The 80/20 plan was the former and I recovered well with 3 days running, one day hiking and KB workouts. I haven't had a bunch of luck with high volume plans because I would tend to get burned out to soon, probably from running too fast and not taking enough recovery. I have decided to start Green Capacity - More Running starting with the lower range of listed run times. FT will be DL, Press and pull downs. We'll see how it goes.
