Thursday 14 July 2022

I came down with a flue on Monday afternoon. Felt sick on the Tuesday and Wednesday. Feeling better on the Thursday. Have taken the week off to give the body a break and hope to be back on it coming Monday.

Monday 18 July

Base building B1 W5 D1 (SE 3 x 50)

Three rounds of 50 reps (16 kg kettlebell) of:
Swings
knee push-ups
Goblet squats
Row (l, r)
Romanian deadlift

T = 45:10; HRav = 127; HRmax = 156.

M0therf@cker, who thought this was a good idea?

This knocked me right out of the park. Techniques were high, and this was as much a mental struggle as a physical one. On a side note, I only started feeling somewhat OK by Saturday.

That's really pretty good for the first workout back after a flu or something like that.

Base building B1 W5D2 (E)

Jogging, t = 1h03; HRav = 142; HRmax = 156.

Was a nice jog/walk. Nose is still somewhat blocked and dripped a lot, but otherwise quite nice.

Swings
knee push-ups
Goblet squats

Went surprisingly well. Only a short break during the G-Squats. Techniques not perfect, but went well!

Review at the end of W5 of BB (including 6 weeks of pre-base building):

The last SE workout is finally done. The progress up to now is nothing but amazing. I missed a total of 5 workouts of the 61 'planned' so far (in 6 weeks pre-base and 5 weeks base).

SE: from struggling with 20 rep rounds (09 May) to relatively calm 50 rep rounds (21 July). Even though the reps were not perfect with the 50 rep rounds, they were done with minimum breaks between exercises (~90 sec between rounds on 09 May).

E: from 1 min walk/1 min jog for 4 km (03 May) to a relaxed 10 km jog on horizontal and walk on uphill (23 July).

No-to-minimal attention was given to eating etc. The measurements start now. I will determine 1RM a bit later today for MS in week 6.
