Interesting study. Shows high protein intake quickens recovery and brings levels of performance back up faster after a hard training block. I like this one because it uses endurance athletes. Good to keep in mind when running Base or Green.

Big bump.

Finished my annual Base Training on Sunday. This time around I did 1gm pro/lb of bodyweight + 30gm protein shake before bed, religiously, every single day. I felt MUCH better throughout in terms of recovery and energy. Body composition stayed great relative to past BBs. Prior BB I didn't really count intake, just ate a hunk of meat three times a day with main meals (chicken breast, steak, eggs, pwo shake). Looking back I was probably short about 40-50gms a day. Kept my carbs constant (about 300gms/day, average for athletically active populations). I seriously urge anyone not feeling close to 100% during Base to up the protein....the benefits for such a small shift in diet are well worth it. Goes without saying carbs shouldn't be neglected either.

Thanks Doc!!
