Stomach Flu

Post by mtguy1976 »

Anyone else hit by this yet? In the midatlantic area of US we are getting slammed by it. I felt it Tuesday morning and by the afternoon the wife and I were at the hospital getting fluids. Wash your hands and stay away from sick people if you can. I know some of us can't avoid staying away from sick people due to our jobs, but be careful. I would say it was a 9 out of 10 on pain. Gives me a reason to take an easy week

I've had it twice this year. I'm also (ironically?) an epidemiologist. Viral gastroenteritis is extremely easy to spread, so the rule of thumb is to stay out of the community (or gym!) for at least 24 hours after symptoms resolve.

I got hit by the "regular" flu hard in November....and I rarely fall sick. Took me out of the game for a solid two weeks and also seemed to linger for a very very long time. Didn't train at all for the two weeks.
