Re: First Foot-Pursuit Post TB
Love hearing this. I'm just itching for a foot pursuit since starting TB. I guess my only relatable experience so far was kicking in a door my trainee was unable to get. Once inside we found out it was braced by a 2x4. Apex and Meat were just bang-on as far as transferring the skill over. Hard spri...

First Foot-Pursuit Post TB
Me and my partner, in between calls on patrol. Recognized a guy with an outstanding warrant standing around with his buddies in a pkg lot. He bolted as soon as they noticed the car. I was out the door and took him down within the first 100 yards. It hit me right after how perfect the carry-over Apex...

Re: Litvinov Workout
Yeah this seems more in line with conditioning (reverse Apex?). I can see this being a problem logistically too. It would be pretty tough to sprint away from the squat rack at my gym, I'd have to leave the gym to find a route outside.

Re: Any martial arts practitioners here?
I trained for 14 years until a few recurring injuries prevent me from full contact training. Specifically Goju Ryu Karate and Kyokushinkai Karate, then later I began getting heavy into Judo. Furthest I got was a nikyu in Kyokushin (2nd kyu, brown belt). Trained in Muay Thai for a bit in between Kyo...

Re: Any martial arts practitioners here?
I've got a few years of Muay Thai and boxing under my belt. Nothing serious and my training's not as consistent as I'd like.

Fiction: Mystic River (excellent)
Training: Overcoming Gravity, all about bodyweight training. There's gold in these pages but the book is very dense and not the most user friendly.
Other: Practical Shooting by Brian Enos

Re: Meditation
If you guys are interested in the hard science, there's a wonderful book out there written by a brain surgeon no less called "Zen and the Brain". The author's a meditator himself.
