Aiwacht's Log

Intro post, I intend to update weekly. Tested max's last week, and the estimated 1rms are: Press 100 Row 130 DL 200 Which are a) as exciting to see as one would expect and b) pretty much what I expected! :) For the record, I am 52, male, 5'10", 170#, and have been running a loose version of Ket...

Re: Walker377 TB Log

Great log, very helpful as I'll be planning more LSS in my future for bikepacking. On the calf, have you tried the Stick? When I could run better (and so run more!) I used to get tweaks in my left calf that work with the Stick (originally just a piece of pipe) worked out. I've used hammer handles, d...

Re: Trap Bar deadlifts and MT

How about inverted rows? It can be very therapeutic if using rings or TRX and there are many ways to progress. Now that's a good idea, as those historically are what feels best. Might rung that at least for the first block & see how things feel. Think about elevated leg/legs, adding weighted ba...

Re: Trap Bar deadlifts and MT

Thanks for your input! Sadly, chins are off the books for a good long while, tried them again last year and once again ended up with tendon issues. How about inverted rows? Trap Bar deadlifts and MT

I have just started the BB from Mass Protocol, and will be running MT after. I have a trap bar on the way as previous injuries keep me from squatting and DL'ing heavy. So on to the question: as the TBDL will be both my squat & DL, I am planning to MT as three days rather than 4, just dropping th...

Re: LSS modalities

In place of a HR monitor (sometimes i forget) - its crazy but I do one of the following: 1) run and recite one of the few poems i know under my breath. If u can recite it, u are in the right HR zone 2) only breathe thru the nose. If u need to use mouth breathing, your HR is too high. Thank you sir!...

Re: Aiwacht training

I hit the park this evening on my rest day and decided to not-quite-rest. Managed a set four clean neutral grip pull ups and 8 short-range straight bar dips. Never tried to dips before, so that was cool. Body mechanics on that one are fairly whack! Pleased with the pull-ups, which I think are a coup...

Re: Aiwacht training

Week 1, 11-17 June 2018 Posting early as I know what else is coming, which is just an hour on the bike tomorrow - (this ended up to be a 40-minute walk due to heavy rain). OP loading and ton of walking, with a few jogs here and there to test the water. KBs are totally within an 'easy' range and find...
