Re: LSS modalities

In place of a HR monitor (sometimes i forget) - its crazy but I do one of the following: 1) run and recite one of the few poems i know under my breath. If u can recite it, u are in the right HR zone 2) only breathe thru the nose. If u need to use mouth breathing, your HR is too high. Thank you sir!...

Re: Mike D's training log

Week 1 Day 6: Rx LSS for 60 min. Use the same route as my other LSS days wifi which is a 2.92 mile loop around my neighborhood. Two days ago the loop took me 59:29, today I made the loop in 54:37. I was able to do a little bit more running today. The weird thing was that yesterday was a rest day and...

Re: LSS modalities

Hey Mike D, I am not old, but I started TB from an off the couch approach. I did the walk/run or just ran slow enough to keep it in range. You can do it man. It's humbling for sure, but the progress is worth it! Thanks Travman for your input, that is the route that I am going to take, today was ano...

Re: LSS modalities

Maxrip 13 thank you for your input, I think I may have to do that for a bit of recovery, if I get to the point of needing a bit more recovery than is programmed in.

Re: Mike D's training log

I can speak as someone who has struggled with running and have not done it consistently if at all since I got out of the military almost 20 years ago. I was doing lots more walking than running (lots more) when I first started and now find I can run almost the first 20 min without having to walk an...

Re: LSS modalities

Just adding my dos pesos by saying that BB has changed about everything that I thought I know about training.. Biggest surprise was that I can run. My ability to run increased dramatically during my first BB couple of years ago. I have jumped from “running” with painfully slow 30 min to comfortable...

Re: Mike D's training log

hi Mike, a few thoughts: a) fitbit HR is frankly not very accurate but wear it somewhat tighter and it should serve its purpose. b) your max HR during your LSS run should be approx 180-age... so makes it 123. If you are de-conditioned it will mean probably 120 max to start with. You mentioned you w...
