I sort of felt like crap when I started, but by about three rounds in I knew I was going to have a pretty good day on the hill.
Funny how that happens....

Btw, I just googled "bulldog kettlebell weight", nice goal you have there!

Re: Military

Pure rucking at fastest pace sustainable, no shuffling/running. No need for running/jogging with your ruck ever in training session. You will survive it if it's needed on selection or somewhere if you are well conditioned on rucking and running, but using it on regular basis while training is injur...

Re: Military

... 2 years is plenty of time to prepare. I don't want to repeat what others said, just some notes to add: -Rucking should be your priority for army ranger school (I went through something similar). IMO don't stress to much about pushup/situp/pullup numbers, you need to build them but not in expens...

Re: SE exercise clusters

This is a minimalist cluster I like using outside of Basebuilding (when I feel like throwing in the occasional alpha or tango circuit):

Pull-ups
Push-ups
Goblet Squats

Re: OHP vs Bench

Bench. You'll put on a lot more muscle and overall strength, as you'll be able to handle much heavier loads. I tend to mentally divide my lifts into primary and secondary exercises. Primary = BP/SQ/DL, secondary = OHP/Front Squat/Romanian DL or Weighted Pull-ups. Primary are the "bang for buck&...

Re: 43 Week Tactical Barbell Plan

In- looking forward to seeing your progress. I don't see any issues with using SL after coming off Base...probably a good time to take advantage of linear progression. Keep in mind at some point it'll get difficult to sustain SL sessions along with lots of running. When that happens you'll want to m...

Re: Base building help/suggestions

You have time to get there, and you are already working. Good. As you already know, you have to build up your base of fitness. It seems to me the 17 week sample program in TB2 would be ideal for your situation, but I'll leave that specific programming to the experts. I do have more than my share of...
