Excellent thread. Well said Aelian. TB was designed for a specific outcome (600lb deadlift, run a half marathon at any given time etc). I often read this information. I don't have my book in front of me, but doesn't green call for HIC once a week or once every two weeks? Either way I don't think there's any issue with subbing in a HIC for an E every week. Don't forget that during Green you add speed to your E sessions, there's no longer any HR zone. I'm guessing ...

So, I have been struggling with similar issues. In April, my hockey season ended, and I was able to completely focus on BB followed by Black/Op. It has been very rewarding. In October, hockey starts back up again. I can't say whether goaltending is in the same ballpark as BJJ, and it probably is no...

I don't think there's a strong stance for or against it, if it works for you then it's perfectly acceptable. Like you said, you're not restricting cals....or rather you shouldn't be.

I think low carb or keto is a no-no, if you're running standard TB.
