Re: Squat alternative for I/CAT
A squat alternative some people switch to is Bulgarian split squats, you can load them progressively and heavy using Trap Bars e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VGmqdlb9Bg . One word of warning - start lighter than you think you can, it takes a while for all the stabilizers to develop when switc...

Re: Transcendental Meditation
I have no personal experience but I trust Kevin Rose his opinion on it. He mentions it is overpriced, while it is actually very simple and does work. Re: Paralysis by Analysis (AKA, what should I do?)
Whatever KB says goes He’s the one with the tactical experience, I’m just a desk jockey who thinks that a multi-dimensional athlete makes more sense than a strong dude who can’t walk a few blocks without gassing out. ... Don’t mind my views too much. I’m only here to straighten some confusion and c...

Re: Paralysis by Analysis (AKA, what should I do?)
I am enjoying this thread. I do wonder how many people actually belong in "category 1"...sufficiently competent such that designing their own programming is an objectively good option for accomplishing their goals. ... Thanks close_fox for sharing such a nuanced picture of your acquired k...

I see I see.
I thought you were also arguing against following the program to the T. Like in: don't follow the program at all unless you understand it thoroughly.

Re: Paralysis by Analysis (AKA, what should I do?)
EDIT: apparently misunderstood the point, see comments below There are two kinds of people: 1) people that have internalised the principles laid out in the books to such an extent that they can be creative and devise their own program 2) people that like the mentality and principles laid out in the ...

So many great authors out there! It seems to all be over my head.
I'm a beginner to strength training, so aside from KB I can really appreciate Rippetoe for explaining proper form of Barbell exercises in detail in 'starting strength'.

Share your favourite stretching routine (post E/SE/Max Strength workout)
Share your favourite stretching routines! Maybe also specify after what type of workout (E/SE/Max Strength) you would perform it, or maybe you perform it everyday.
