Re: Running technique and injury prevention

Yes, stay more upright. What you are trying to achieve is shoulders back, upright, and hip rotated back to neutral. Anterior pelvic tilt is having too much arch in the back. Most people are so stuck in anterior pelvic tilt that rotating the hips back to neutral feels like a rounded lower back. If yo...

Re: Eggs Reduce Abdominal Fat and More

Not surprising. The author mentions a "lack of mechanistic explanation" which is not true. We know exactly why eggs do not raise cholesterol. There are a couple of reasons. #1 most of the cholesterol is esterified and your body cannot absorb cholesterol esters. #2 Your body tightly regulat...

Re: Running technique and injury prevention

Re: After 40 club

49 years old here. Still able to get it done... Some of my thoughts below from my blog: I have been working out in gyms since 1983.  In that 30+ year period I have made a pretty consistent observation.  Young guys tend to heave heavy weights with questionable form but the worst offenders in terms of...

Re: Who are your favorite fitness authors?

I spoke at length to a trainer for the San Diego Chargers. Seems that many NFL players use their own trainers. They tend to do much less group training like college sports. In fact, the college strength and conditioning programs are much more well developed and organized for that reason. I read an a...
