Re: SE First Base Building Week 4
I did 1x50 this morning and I was glad that I did. With no set breaks and taking 30 seconds between movements, I was able to complete it in about 10 minutes. But I know for sure I'll need to take some mid-set breaks on the 3rd set and maybe the 2nd set during next week's 3x50. I do have an athletic ...

SE First Base Building Week 4
Hi Everyone, I bought the books for my Kindle about a year ago. I did a base-building phase last January using the Alpha circuit. I loved it and had some good endurance gains. Then I fell off the fitness wagon after my son was born in March. I did my best to maintain endurance levels by going out fo...

Re: SE Barbell Cluster
Thanks to everyone who posted. I just wanted to do a little check-in to help keep me accountable. So far, my base building has been going amazingly well. I started week 4 today. I did 3x40 reps on my SE circuit (the barbell cluster from TBII) this morning. It was tough and my limbs felt like Jell-O ...

Are SE Circuits Anaerobic?
Hi everyone, I came across this article last night: http://www.championseverywhere.com/why-you-dont-do-anaerobic-during-the-aerobic-phase/ It discussed how placing anaerobic workouts in the middle of an aerobic base building phase of training can be detrimental. This had me thinking about the base b...

The one implemented today looks good! Much lighter and easier on the eyes.

Re: SE Barbell Cluster
Hi TangoZero, Thanks for the heads up. I will consider dropping an exercise if it gets to be too much. I'm doing the Alpha program right now. So just alternating SE with E and I started my SE at 3x10 with 55lbs for every exercise. It was pretty easy last week. Rather than increase by 10 each week, I...

Re: SE Barbell Cluster
Thanks for the reply.
I did my second day of my SE cluster. I swapped the front squat out and did low bar back squats. It worked well and felt good. We'll see how my hamstrings and glutes hold up.
Thanks again,
Fogull

Re: Butt Wink
I'm learning to low bar squat right now and I've been working at it a lot without weight and with just the 45lb bar on my back in the mirror. My butt wink was caused by a few things that I think I've come close to fixing: 1. Going too deep. When I first started learning to low bar squat I was trying...

SE Barbell Cluster
Hi everyone, I started my base building block this morning and it went well. However, I had one question. I'm planning to mainly do the barbell cluster from the book for my SE routines (Push Press, Front Squat, Bench Press, Barbell Row, Shrugs, and Romanian Deadlifts). My question is about switching...
