Re: (Another) PFT Prep Question
I had to take the same test and had the same weakness (running). Take a look through my threads and my training log. Long story short I’d be running 5 days a week if I were you. 4 days at 30 minutes and 1 day at 50-60 minutes (long run). Increment each by 5-10 minutes each week until your 4 days are...

New Schedule Advice
Hey all, Just finished up a FLE academy and started the new job. In addition, added a baby to the mix and a move. I'm still repaying the goodwill of leaving my wife with a new baby for a number of months while I was gone. Ultimately, I plan on still training BJJ 2x/week. I'm looking to "stay in...

Academy - Firearms and Tactical Training Tips
i'm at a LE academy now, and as someone without prior experience in LE, i find the firearms and tactical training to be something very new to deal with, mentally-speaking. i've been practicing both a ton, so at least the mechanics are something that i can dedicate less mental resources to. but with ...

Re: Martial Arts for LEO
i think ground-based fighting is the way to go, but i am slightly biased since i've been training BJJ for a long time. i find the uptake on judo - meaning learning the moves - to be a bit difficult and take a fair bit of time to be proficient. i think wrestling is quicker to learn, but there aren't ...

Re: LE Physical Fitness Test Help/Advice
Spemma, Can you comment on what you did after your bb? I'm in the same boat in more ways than one and would love to see what you did after your 4 week BB (which I've been doing for a week now). Take a look at my log for my training. I stopped posting but I pretty much followed that routine. I did s...

Lower Back Issue
About once or twice per year, I’ll be doing something pretty innocuous and my lower back will suddenly seize up. For example, one time I was playing floor hockey and running backwards while defending. They pass the ball across the court and I shift ever so slightly and my lower back just seized up. ...

Re: Elbow pain doing chin ups
Rest is your best bet, but if it persists, look up a theraband and YouTube the “reverse Tyler twist”.
Sounds like golfers elbow.

Re: Elbow pain doing chin ups
Is the pain localized to the joint? Or is it on the inner or outer part of the elbow?
The latter would be golfers or tennis elbow.
