Using Push Press in my HIC sessions

Hello everyone!

I’m following a Operator I/A template with a BSQ/BP/WCU cluster. My main goal is strength and mass, so i’m eating to fuel my strength sessions and I usually increase the standard 3 sets (as Operator I/A option).

According to my goals, I’m planning to follow Black Protocol for conditioning with 2 HIC sessions a week.

My question: is it possible to use a barbell lift, such as push press, as a tool for my HIC sessions? Which percentages of my max can I use to not affect my strength sessions?

Thanks as always for all your advices!

Stefano

Hi Barkadion, thanks a lot for your reply!

I read several times this article...but, this is my doubt: a friend of mine who trains with me let me discover a really fun conditioning session with BB Hang Clean and BB Push Press, so i’d really like to try it...my question is what percentage of the lift is useful to use in a HIC session (maybe 70%?) in order to not make it another MS session...

Thanks again!

Yes quite similar!! ;)

This is the session:

1 Hang Clean + 3 Push Press x 5
x 5 rounds, 1 minute rest between rounds...record your time and try to beat it next time...

So what do you think? Is 65/70% doable?

I am not an expert but.. I would try to approach it as SE and start very light (20%-30%) if I was about to do that. And build from there.. But that's me..
