Base Building - Strength Focus

Hi guys. I'm starting base building on Monday. I have decided to flip the standard BB and start with a strength focus. My reasoning being that as a runner I have a half decent cardio base and I'd like to focus on Max strength for a while before moving on to Fighter+Green. I'm going to have to slow down my run pace quite a bit to match in with the E sessions in BB which i'm actually quite looking forward to.
My question is during a Strength focused BB can/should I add in elements of SE such as the Strength-Endurance circuits shown IE workout 8. in TBII training vault E section once a week, or keep it all pretty standard LSS/fun runs? Does it matter?
Example for week 1 of BB:
FIGHTER (SQ, B, WPU)
E x 30M - Strength – Endurance Circuit as TBII
E x 30M– LSS Run
FIGHTER (SQ, B, WPU(opt.), DL)
Recovery - Core routine
E x 35 - 120M – LSS Run
Rest

You could but I wouldn't bother. You will do 3 weeks of SE as part of your base build and if your have an endurance background the extra strength will improve your endurance results anyway.
If you feel you need SE for whatever reason after the 8 week base build you could look at it as part of your continuation protocol.
As a heads up my best push up numbers usually coincided with a decent benchpress. Strength helps SE, where as SE doesn't really help Max Strength in the same way.

Thanks, that makes sense. I did think about Fighter Bangkok as a continuation but that'll be a call for after BB. In the meantime i'll try and get a little SE through fun runs once a week.

Why do you need the SE work ?
Is it a work related fitness test or just for general fitness ?

Just general fitness. I run the occasional Ultra marathon and it seems like a good area to target.

I reckon your SE might be pretty good if you can do ultras.
Fun runs will tick the box in my opinion.
It’s different if you have a selection or fitness testing.
