Hello,
Has anyone done SE Alpha from book 2 with kettle-bells as their S cluster in Grey Man Mass Protocol? I see it is pretty much free choice on S cluster, but would SE Alpha plugged in here be too much?
Thanks.
Question Grey Man Mass Proto
Re: Question Grey Man Mass Proto
What are you trying to achieve?
List your cluster, goals and all that and we might be able to give a better answer.
Is the plan to use that SE cluster to gain mass or to bring and SE element to your Specificity?
Need a bit more info to answer your question

Re: Question Grey Man Mass Proto
My goals are to remain fit past 40, this means cycling strength and muscle building blocks as well as keeping up with conditioning. I currently use OMS with Black from book 2 during the MS phase.
My Grey Man cluster in Mass Protocol is BP/SQ and OHP/DL. The Mass protocol book allows you to add a supplementary cluster to the end of the main lifts. The book states that the exercise choice for "S1" and "S2" are left up the the individual depending on goals as long as you "don't get too crazy" with exercise number.
I see the value in strength endurance. Although I've only been lifting for part of my years, I've been doing "SE" my entire life as I imagine most of you have. My question is follows: Do you think it is a good idea to insert SE Alpha from book 3 into the "S1-2" clusters in Grey Man? Will performing progressive SE hinder the muscle building mission of Grey Man, or does it not matter? The idea is to save time. If it is not advised, I can just stick SE elsewhere as I've been doing.
Thanks.

If you are doing Mass I think you should just do mass. I don’t think you should combine mass gain and se. They are completely different domains. If SE is a priority then maybe give fighter Bangkok a run with your plan in place of operator.Hothrebel wrote:My goals are to remain fit past 40, this means cycling strength and muscle building blocks as well as keeping up with conditioning. That said if you have been in that 3-5 rep range for an extended period, specificity will improve your SE through the higher rep ranges. It just won’t be a focused SE block.
Specificity is meant to be targeted hypertrophy focus. It’s your chance to use bodybuilding movements to focus on weak areas. It’s your chance to do bicep curls, chest flies etc and work on specific weak areas.
I think you would be better off focusing until you reach your mass goals and then working on improving your SE in a seperate cycle to adjust to the added body weight. Get those mass gains and then focus on SE with the added muscle.
That’s just my personal opinion.

Thanks.
I love my SE. I like the idea of subbing in Bangkok for the normal MS block once or twice a year.
