Fighter For BJJ Athlete

Post by JTAY97 »

Hey guys!

Wondered what you think of using the tactical barbell fighter without any HIC / SE added.

I’m a bjj brown belt and I train everyday on the mats.

We have some high level guys at our gym too so it’s not just easy rounds.

Tbh I find anytime I add SE / HIC I just accumulate so much fatigue because I’m doing lots of bjj already and I have no issues with muscles getting fatigued and my gas tank feels good.

Could I just use the bare bones fighter ??

If so what clusters would you recommend?

I was thinking something like:

Day 1 -

- SSB Squat
- Bench
- WPU

Day 2 -

- SSB Squat
- Bench
- Deadlift (1 Set)

Thanks guys!

If your conditioning is covered by BJJ then Fighter with such a minimalist cluster is a perfect choice. If there is any need to rehab or strengthen some weak points it could be covered by a few sets of corresponding accessories, but it's optional and rather unnecessary if there are no real reasons to do them.

I'd go with a training max and force progression instead of retesting right from the start.

Hope this helps.
