SE workouts and heart health?

I have a (hopefully) quick question.

Are there cardio or heart health benefits from higher rep strength work, like if you're doing things like pushups and body weight squats? My heart rate and breathing goes up while exercising like that but I wasn't sure if that provides any cardio benefits.

Thanks.

Anything you do that elevates your heart for a period of time contributes to conditioning. Keep in mind there's more to conditioning/cardio than just the heart; there's muscular adaptation, mitochondria, vascular network etc.

Thanks, it seems like that should be the case but I've learned not to assume. I was thinking mostly in health terms, like not getting a heart attack or something.
