I like the others - the idea of strong is useful and be prepared, though.

I like the others - the idea of strong is useful and be prepared, though.
It takes a lot of work to understand the compassion and to develop it. You can achieve it by pushing yourself and by changing yourself in the way of training. Training is journey of self-discovery. You get to understand your nature. You get to understand the compassion. You develop compassion by changing yourself. Compassion is changing in a way.

I never understand where people try and get philosophical with their reason to train.(I am not saying that it's wrong though)
I do this purely for myself even though my work colleagues benefit from it.
My reason:
Stronger,faster and harder to kill
In the tactical environment you don't have the option of losing.
I never want to be the weak link in any team physically.
I need to remember this when I train and not push too hard on days I might need to perform at work.
This reminds me that I am due to do some base building as I am struggling to recover from day to day training lately.

Different personalities, Max. Some people just born/ blessed/doomed to it. I can always see good soft-hard JW’s philosophical spot in even his strongest sayings. Attributed to a SOF member or written on the wall of some SO school somewhere for selection candidates. I'm not into this one in a political sense - more about the mindset it portrays. I sort of touch on this in TBII when I talk about how I got carried away with Gucci kit/and things that don't really matter - worrying about the icing and forgetting about the cake.

One thought that’s always stuck with me since my wrestling days is your “opponent” and his training habits. He’s training when you are training, except harder and in worse conditions. He’s training when you are resting. He’s training when you make excuses not to train. Are you prepared to meet your oppponent? This still translates to day to day life for me
