Day 2

Rest Day

Sore as Hell. Went to the dojo and still trained with the guys. I tried to eat as frequently as possible but getting that into my current eating habit might be one of the biggest challenges that I would have to overcome.

Back Squat 125 lbs

Weighted Pull Ups 25 lbs in my backpack

Went to the dojo around noon. After doing some basic judo workout with regular uchikomi and trading throws, my muscle soreness kinda went away. Although my muscles were still sore, I decided to bite the bullet and did my Day 3 workout. Still working on eating small portions but more frequently.

Stretching before going to bed definitely helped me to recover faster. I should do that more regularly.

We are starting to get a few BJJ and Judo players on here :)

Can I ask why you don't just add the weight of the bar into your lift totals? I get that it is a different weight, but it's got to be annoying sometimes for adding up weights and percentages haha.

Week 2 Day 1
Back Squat 145 lbs
Bench 80 lbs
Weighted Pull Ups 29 lbs in my backpack (Total weight including backpack is 33.2 lbs)

As expected of Week 2, it was more challenging than Week 1. In my old dojo in Korea we only had white and black belts but since I'm learning judo in America, we now have white, green, brown and black. So today, we worked on my test materials which are ippon seoi nage and o-soto gari. I have to work on pulling uke close to my body in order to break his balance more easily.

Back Squat 145 lbs

Holy mother of lord, squat was more difficult than Day 1. I kinda forgot to take my protein shake yesterday, so I guess that's the payment for me. Went to the dojo at noon. We worked on pinning techniques which are also part of my test materials. After that, we went to regular uchi-komi, nage-komi and randori. I was able to throw my partner with morote seoi nage which is my specialty. Ever since I got back to Judo training around late-January, that's the only throw that I've been practicing. I kinda have a feeling that I can also do good job at harai goshi but for now, I'm just gonna work on perfecting morote seoi nage.

I think I should take some BCAA cuz my muscles are way too sore even during squatting. It's definitely not recovering fast enough
