Monday - day 2 of 80%
SQ 3 sets of 5 at 120
BP 3 sets of 5 at 80
DL 5 reps of 135, 155, 165

Tuesday - long run
70 minutes of jogging, average heart rate 147. My mile splits definitely slowed as the miles piled up.

Wednesday - long run! 70 minutes, average heart rate 146.

Thursday - finally rested after nearly two weeks on

Friday - 90%
SQ 3 x 3 x 135
BP 3 x 3 x 85
PU 3 x 3 +15 <- these were super easy
Also 1:15 of BJJ. There's a new lady there which was awesome. That brings the grand total of women at my gym up to 3. They are all substantially bigger than me (like 50 lbs) though, which is a bit discouraging.

However, since the weather is mild and it's been almost a year since I last did a cycle of base, I think I'll shelve the strength goals for a few weeks and get that cardio up.
Why not do both? Run a strength-focused BB (3 days Op + 3 days E). It really works well as long as you stick to the numbers/training max. And the calories of course.

Love the log btw, enjoy seeing all the wins!

Thanks DocOctagon. The challenge with incorporating more E is that I need to program in 2 brazilian jiu jitsu sessions each week too. I would like to work something out though, because I do enjoy LSS.

This is the end of week 4 of base building for me. I think I'll do six weeks of E 3x per week, MS 2x per week and BJJ 2x week. Then I plan to swap out MS for SE for the last two weeks. My win this week was a new deadlift PR of 205 (at 120 bw). I've been going for 1RM basically on a whim whenever I feel like it. It's a much less stressful way to test, in my opinion. My schedule didn't allow for BJJ this week though, so that's a bummer.

Fri - day 2 of 90%
SQ 135 x 3 x 3
BP 85 x 3 x 3
PU 3 sets of 3 with + 15

Sat - long run, 75 minutes

Sun - excruciatingly boring hour of LSS at the gym. Mix of row and jog.

Mon - rest

Tue - day 1 of 75%
SQ 115 x 3 x 5
BP 70 x 3 x 5
DL working up to 1 x 205

Wed - rest

Thur - 45 minute run

I've lost a few lbs from running + not tracking calories, and was promptly hit with a viral infection. I've consistently failed at making tracking calories a priority, and it pretty much always ends with me getting sick. Guess I'll have to do better.
