My body was destroyed and I struggled through this session massively. Not much else more to say.

Today's Training

BJJ Gi
1130-1300

Worked on following closed guard sweeps:
Flower(Counter after they push to sit you back down)
Cross arm under leg sweep( What I always thought was the flower sweep)
Forward sweep( Open guard as they posture and scoot under)
Pinch legs, kick butt( when they stand with legs close)
Haha I don't always remember names, but this is how I remember to do the sweeps above.

Then did positional rolling from closed guard for however long shark tank style.
Focus on sweeping, submitting or standing for bottom person. Top person passing and no sneaky leg locks:).

Finished with 1 x 5 min round of rolling.

This was my first train back in Australia after my training trip to Indonesia. One thing I noticed is I really have improved my tightness and pressure for passing from all my rounds overseas with tough people. My passes were slow but I found I eventually was able to grind my way through people guards after I got their legs pinned. I also hit a couple subs from closed guard and side control after passing.

The biggest takeaway from today ... I didn't get caught in a single sub. I don't roll to win but this was something I din't realise until I was typing this up. It's a small victory but I felt like I was in much better positions than usual due to all my training overseas.

I am back to work tomorrow, but will probably try to get a TB session in to start my Strength work back up again. I am thinking Fighter with a finisher :D

Today's Training

TB Fighter 1st Day

Nil Warmup (It was hot enough here)

Pistols x5 ea side
1 arm KB OHP 16kg x5 ea side
Pullups x5
3 rounds total, approx 2 min rest between rounds( Probably 1 min would be closer)
Finisher
10 2 Hand KB Swings 16kg
Overhead Carry 20m left, 20m Right
x 3 rounds

This was my first TB session after my BJJ training trip. I took it very easy and will just get the joints prepped for heavier lifting later. I have a few niggles that are still recovering.

It was a nice easy session and I will progress very conservatively. I will focus on form and build up to the following:
Pistol 32kg ea side
1 Arm KB OHP 32kg ea side
Weighted Pullups 20kg x5

That should prep my body for some heavy lifting while also allowing me to focus on BJJ and work.

I am glad to be back but I miss that train, eat and sleep lifestyle. Today's TB session was fuelled by chocolate and 2 soft drinks due to an hour of OT on my first shift back:)

It is definitely worth taking a block to focus towards a goal with minimal distractions. I could of taken the month off here and trained but life gets in the way. I have been back a couple of days and I have already got to miss a BJJ session due to family commitments :D

If only I got paid to train:)
