AvailableClone's Training Log - Road to War

Post by AvailableClone »

Hello, I'm keeping this training log for motivation and a way for me to see how much I've grown and developed over the period of me doing this program. I am 17 years old, have been running for 4 years in XC and Track and am hoping to gain acceptance to the United States Military Academy. I chose this program to see benefits in both strength and endurance so that when I do commission as an officer, I will be as physically fit as possible. As K.B. said in his book, being superior in multiple fitness domains IS elite. Looking forward to seeing improvements in my physical ability.

Day 1:

It was a SE session with 2 circuits with 40 repetitions of exercises on the menu today. My SE circuit is pushups, dumbbell squats, dumbbell rows, sit-ups, and shrugs just because of the way my gym is structured, nobody can really do a circuit workout on the barbells. I stuck with a 15 lb dumbbell and put in the effort. Unfortunately I did not do so hot on the pushups and had to stop and recover multiple times. Hopefully I can get that down before going into whatever basic training I end up in. The energy drink I drank definitely helped a lot.

Day 2:

Yesterday was a rest day, today was LSS. I made the classic mistake of eating before trying to run, felt like absolute sh*t and couldn't get past the 20 minute mark without wanting to throw up. For some reason I'm extremely tired today, but I guess that's just because of poor sleep.

Day 3:

I'm on week 4 of the base building routine, getting kind of sick and tired of doing SE work but I'll just suck it up for now. Today was SE 1 x 50, pretty easy so I just hit the gym right after school and then I went home.

Its been a while, more than I'd like to admit, but I've been accepted to the Military Academy! However, I think that with my current physique, I would not be the best performer while being in service, so its time for me to get my game face on. Right now I am on Week 5 of BB, after that I'm going to push hard in Green Protocol so I can build my Strength endurance, Endurance, and my Strength.
