I think it ups recovery to be honest. I now have a full day up my sleeve extra for this week. Considering the low intensity of the run and low volume of today's session (2x20 for 6 exercises) i think it might be something I try and continue to do. I am really concentrating on making these runs about basebuilding. I honestly think I could of ran for hours at the pace I am going for these sessions, which means I am perfect basebuild mode:)
I see.. but from my experience fatigue is really builds up steadily with B.B.. I do feel like a broken machine close to the end of it.. so it’s tricky..
I definitely feel that 4th week with the 3x50, but overall I find basebuilding a nice break from the barbells.
I will have to see how I feel after this one as I usually do lower volume with S&S.
Maybe that's why I usually come out feeling ok.

Today's Training

LSD run
45min
5.79km
Avg Pace 7:47 min/km

This felt great until the 35 min mark. I then started to experience some calf/achilles tightness.
I also got some stomach cramps but I did have a pre run Slurpee which was probably the real cause of discomfit.
Overall good, easy 45min run to finish off the first week of basebuilding.

Today's Training

Basebuilding Week 2
Strength Endurance

1 leg KB deadlift 16kg x15 ea side
Pushups x 30
Lunges x 30
1 Arm KB Rows 16kg x 15 ea side
1 Leg Glute Ham Bridge x15 ea side
Plank 1:30

x 3 rounds

First session of week 2 of basebuilding. It was a little bit harder, but still able to complete most reps unbroken or with arms extended to rest in the later rounds of the pushups.

My knee was feeling a little rough today after yesterdays BJJ, so I will run tomorrow. I will add some mobility work in today and seee how that helps.

Basebuild Week 2

Strength Endurance 2x30

1 Leg KB RDL 16kg x15 eas side
Pushups x 30
Lunges x 15 ea side
1 arm KB Rows 16 KG x 15 ea side
1 Leg Glute Ham bridge x 15 ea side
Plank 1:30min

x 2 rounds with approx 2 min rest between rounds.

Nice little SE training session after a few too many beers and some terrible food yesterday.
I did this session on a diet of beer, potato chips and cake. Need less to say I have felt much better.

The training is done though. Tomorrow will be BJJ and maybe an afternoon run. 2 more run sessions to go and week 2 is down.

Avg pace-6:39 per/km

Good little run. I plan to follow it up with a 90 min remedial massage at 3. I ran the last km a bit faster but the first 5 were slow and easy

Went over stuff from the last month.
Revisited takedowns from turtle bottom and SLX

4x5 min roll

Today I was the nail. I got absolutely smashed in training today. Not sure if it was heat or what but the struggle was extremely real today.
