Today’s training

GMB rings 1 phase 4
Week 13 ysession 2

3 x through total flow

30 min Lss run 3.8km

I skipped a week of training and jumped straight into the final phase. I am training in a garage which restricts the height I can hang my rings. I will head out to the local park and hang the rings next session to allow me full movement on my exercises. I have enough room but it is making my sessions a touch harder.

Today’s training

GMB rings 1 phase 4
Week 13 session 5

4x through total flow

Bjj gi midday
Worked on lapel pass to takedown.

8x5 mins rolling from lapel grip

I did my ring flows before bjj. It felt pretty good and was a great warmup. I did gas a bit rolling but I might keep the flow as part of my warmup for the future to maintain my ring skills.

I have finished Rings 1 from GMB. Overall decent program to get you better on the rings. It;s not a complete strength and conditioning program but would work well with some high volume running if you wanted to focus on that.

I am deciding whether to do a basebuild next or go with fighter/green.

My next goal is to build up some run mileage while also getting to BJJ regularly.
I am strong enough. Now I need to work on building back some conditioning and improving my recovery.
I basically want to slowly turn myself from a strength athlete towards more endurance work for selection prep.

I am thinking of using the following cluster for my basebuild:

Bulgarian squat
Push Movement
1 Leg Deadlift
Pull Movement

3x30 min runs
2-3 BJJ

If I go with fighter it wont be much different. I will use the following:

Back Squat
Push Movement
Weighted Pullup

Every 3rd session sub in 1 leg deadlift for squat

2x30 min run/ 1x 30 min plus run or ruck (Push a bit harder than in basebuilding)
2-3 BJJ

Hopefully the above makes sense. I am taking a couple days to rest and will decide how to proceed from there.

Good luck with the new clusters - i like the setup.
It ain't what you don’t know that gets you into trouble.
It's what you know for sure that just ain’t so.
