Today’s training

Bjj gi midday

Kimura entries
Armbar entries
Choi bar from being stacked
3x5 mins rolling

It was my last class at my current gym. I am sad to leave but my coach has put me onto a new place to train. I have really enjoyed the current kimura series we have been doing and the Choi bar is one of my ways to finish the armbar.

I popped a rib today in my 4th round of sparring so I’ll be taking a bit of time off until it heals up.

Today’s training

30 min walk

I will be recovering from my popped rib for a while. I am going to take at least 1-2 weeks doing only easy walking.
I’ll transition into running and hopefully run a basebuild with exercises that don’t aggravate it.

I am looking at least 6-8 weeks off the mats. I was just about to move gyms and I can’t risk rolling with new people until it’s fully healed.

Today’s training

LSS run 35.22min
5km
Avg pace 7:04min/km
Avg HR 151bpm

This is my first run since popping my rib. No major issues but I don’t think I’ll be doing bjj anytime soon. I’ll be doing a bit of a base build in the coming weeks.

I remember popping my rib when a heavy purple belt kneed on belly me. It took around 4 weeks to feel comfortable again in bottom side control. Stay safe!
