LSS: jogging x 40 minutes

Feet are a bit sore; still getting used to running on pavement. Heart rate and breathing continue to feel good, not feeling tired the way I used to after a jog.

Max Strength

Warmup: TGU progression

Code: Select all

Squat: Assist Chinup: OHP:
5 x 95 5 x 5 5 x 60
5 x 95 5 x 5 10 x 60
10 x 95 10 x 5 5 x 60
Lifts felt good. Notes on specific lifts below:
OHP: Watched Rippetoe video on OHP form before that lift. Learned I wasn't bringing the bar fully overhead, could really feel my back engage when I fixed that. Got so focused on form I forgot which set I was on, thus the 10 rep set in the middle.

Assist Chinup: My dip belt arrived yesterday. I'm still using the TRX Heavy band for assistance, though I'm using the dip belt to add weight. On the one hand, it seems overly complicated. On the other hand, this lefts me add resistance in much smaller jumps than my current assistance bands allow, and I'll want the dip belt anyway once I can start doing chinups sans assistance.

Feet are still a touch sore from running. Looks like I'll be buying running shoes next paycheck.

LSS: jog x 35 minutes

Not the greatest run I've ever had, but I got it done.

LSS: jog x 30 minutes

Sticking with minimum run times for the moment. Feet hurt a bit, right between the ball and the outer edge of the foot by the pinky toe. Buying new running shoes next week, and I'll bump my run lengths up after that.

LSS: jog x 40 minutes

Bought new running shoes yesterday. Feet feel a lot happier with them.

Max Strength

Code: Select all

Bench: Assist chinup: Squat:
5 x 70 5 x 15 5 x 115

Better squat form today. All lifts felt solid.

Edit: realized I was being silly. I'll follow the BB program as written for the next three weeks.

My feet are sore from running on pavement in shoes designed for dirt, so the HIC sessions will give my feet some time to recover.

From Googling around, it looks like my foot pain is likely a case of metatarsalgia. I'm taking the rest of the week off from running to give my feet a chance to heal.
