Hey DJ, refer back to the TB books. SE is done as a circuit, it probably didn't get repeated in the pre-BB article/post. So you do a set of OHP, rest, a set of row, rest, etc., until you have completed the circuit, then you take a longer rest between circuits than you do between sets in a circuit. Well described in TB II.

K.B. has written on this site and elsewhere that SE will sometimes/often result in needing to take breaks mid-set, to just take a few breaths and keep going. So don't get discouraged by this, it will still happen.

OK. The Pre-BB post said "Rest 90 or 60 sec in between sets. Rest 2-3 minutes in between exercises." so I thought it was traditional sets. (And I wondered why it was different from regular BB). I guess I can try it as circuits, resting 90 sec between each station and 2-3 minutes between each circuit.

**Tactical Barbell Pre-Base Building W2D1 (take two)**

Empty bar (45lbs) for all, except sit-ups (bodyweight only). 90s rest between each set.

3 circuits of:

* OHP x20
* Bent-over row x20
* Squat x20
* RDL x20
* Sit-ups x20

It was a struggle, but I got through it.

Day 10:

**Tactical Barbell Pre-Base Building W2D3**

Empty bar (45lbs) for all, except sit-ups (bodyweight only). 90s rest between each set.

3 circuits of:

* OHP x20
* Bent-over row x20
* Squat x20
* RDL x20
* Sit-ups x20

Still a struggle to get through, but I didn't feel completely destroyed when it was done, so that's nice.

It is pretty much always a struggle for everybody, that is the idea. The struggle is what causes adaptation. If you struggle less than the last time you did something that just shows your body did some adapting - progress. You are doing fine.

Thanks for the encouragement!

I'm finding the E days much easier.

Day 11:

**Tactical Barbell Pre-Base Building W2D4**

5 min warmup walk

8 rounds of:

* 60s run
* 90s walk

Went smoothly. Broke a sweat, but didn't feel very stressed.

Day 14:

**Tactical Barbell Pre-Base Building W3D1**

Empty bar (45lbs) for all, except sit-ups (bodyweight only). 90s rest between each set.

*1* circuit of:

* OHP x30
* Bent-over row x30
* Squat x30
* RDL x30
* Sit-ups x30

Got off to a strong start (really felt the burn around rep 15), but stopped midway through the second circuit. Just felt weak and low-energy. Disappointed not to finished the workout. Don't know what the problem is. I'll just keep trying.
