2 circuits of:

* Squat x20
* Inverted row x20
* Bicycle crunch x20
* RDL x20

It went fine.

Day 53:

**Tactical Barbell Base Building W1D5**

Endurance. 2.19 miles of running (and walking) in 35:00. Average heartrate: 130 bpm.

Went fine, overall. I was aiming to say in the 120-150 bpm range. Every time I broke into a run, my heartrate would go above 150, so I walked most of the time.

Day 54:

**Tactical Barbell Base Building W2D2**

Empty bar (45lbs) for all, except sit-ups and rows (bodyweight only).
2 circuits of:

* OHP x30
* Squat x30
* Inverted row x30
* Bicycle crunch x30
* RDL x30

Supposed to be 3 circuits, but I ran out of time :(. I'll do another circuit tomorrow before running.

1 circuit of:

* OHP x30
* Squat x30

Went fine, but I got such a late start I didn't have time to run. At least I did something.

It's all about the habit. Simply showing up and doing something will give you at least a little progress.

Thanks! I am trying to build my consistency up. Today was another bare-minimum-is-better-than-nothing type day.

Day 57:

Ran/walked 0.89 miles in 14:59. Felt tired all day (slept poorly, I guess) but tried not to do nothing.

Yesterday:
**Tactical Barbell Base Building W2D3**

Endurance. 2.18 miles of running (and walking) in 35:01. Average heartrate: 133 bpm. Was supposed to be 40 minutes, but I goofed on the time.

Today:
**Tactical Barbell Base Building W2D4**

Endurance. 2.45 miles of running (and walking) in 40:00. Average heartrate: 139 bpm. Went fine.

Both days, I forgot to bring water with me, so I tried to only breathe through my nose, on the basis that nobody ever got dehydrated from breathing through their nose for half an hour. I didn't think it was possible to run while only nose-breathing, but I managed it (the trick is to run very slowly). But every time I went into a run, even at only 4.5 mph, my heartrate shot up to 160+, so I was mainly walking.

As long as you've got your heart rate in the right range, it doesn't matter how fast you're going. That will increase over time.

I don't think you need to worry about dehydrating on runs of that length, regardless of breathing. No need to take water. Now in brutal summer, that may be different.

Thanks!

Forgot to post the previous workout.

Days 60-61:

Previously:
**Tactical Barbell Base Building W2D5**

Empty bar (45lbs) for all, except sit-ups and rows (bodyweight only).
2 circuits of:

* OHP x30
* Squat x30
* Inverted row x30
* Bicycle crunch x30
* RDL x30

Went OK.

Today:
**Tactical Barbell Base Building W2D6**

Endurance. 2.62 miles of walking in 45:00. Forgot to wear my wrist HR monitor, so no average bpm, but I could use the HR monitor in the handles of my treadmill to check on my HR every so often. Stayed in the 120-130 range, average was probably low- to mid-120s. Overall, went OK. Really, felt more bored than anything else.
