I think the Z press is excellent for eliminating leg drive and forcing super strict OHP. Would do them at lower intensity with perfect form as an accessory movement to strict OHP/military press.Barkadion wrote:What is your opinion on Z-press? Seated on the floor variation of OHP?

Bradfords move around your head so dumbbells probably won't work too well for them. They're safer than a strict behind the neck press simply because you're only going over the top of your head. Jim Bradford, a 1950s era weightlifter, made them as he was a C&P specialist. He was big (he competed at 123kg most of the time) and was just four pounds shy of a 400 Olympic press.Barkadion wrote:Thank you. I have never heard of Bradford press.. Interesting.. looks like a good call for DB..

No experience with them, but I can see it being useful (especially if you're lifting in your garage).

Thank you. Will be reading more about Bradford. So much to learn from old school strong men..grouchyjarhead wrote:Bradfords move around your head so dumbbells probably won't work too well for them.
