Cheers mate.
Strength and play day.
Location: The Training Centre
Equipment: BB & iron
W2H power clean & push press. (Stayed with 185#, since I'm still playing with the movement.
Then
5 x 2 @85% (supposed to be 160, but went to 165# since it felt so easy.....did 5 rounds at 165#)
Then
Playtime.
Zercher squats @ 135# - never really done these before. Fat gripz on bar to save arms.
6 x 5 at this weight.
Then
Band work
20 x band tri pulldowns
15 x band hammer curls
3 rounds minimal rest....just to get blood flowing after the ISO hold on Zerchers.
Purple band used.
12 min cool down on AD, short due to clients turning up.
Some days you just don't feel it......on those days, I simply turn up and play. Usually have an awesome session.
Today was an awesome session.

Re: Building A Better Human
Today was what I would term a 'punch the clock' session.
Sleep not good over last two nights, and didn't feel up to training..... but since I own a training facility, would be a waste not to go out in and simply move.
As it happens, after a warm I simply repeated the session from last week with some modifications on the weight used for the presses.
Location: The Training Centre
Equipment: BB, iron, Kettlebells (2 x24's and 2 x 28's)
Warm up and movement prep.
Empty BB complex.
2 rounds.
Heavy: W2H front Squat
Then
6 rounds
Front squats 2 at 85% (205#)
90/90
Then
Medium:
6 rounds
5 seesaw press into
2 x clapping push-ups
Tea cup drills
(20/20/24/24/24/28 - left shoulder still giving a twinge so played it low key using 20's then 24's with 28's for the last round....28's were freakin tough today.)
Then
Light:
6 rounds also
4 x Cleans @ 2x28's into
2 x chin-ups.
Used chin-ups today to see how elbow would hold up. It felt ok....not brilliant, so will keep volume low.
Cool down with 10 AD ride
Not a fabulous session, but I moved, through around some iron, got a sweat on. I'm satisfied.

I bet your shoulders love you after this drill. I have to look into it. It looks also that it must involve scapular area as well..Train_Hard_Live_Easy wrote:here's the tea cup drill from earlier in the year, and yes my video is speeded upBarkadion wrote:Sometimes I feel like I'm reading "Alice in Wonderland" when I read your log "Tea cup drill".. Apex Hills day........ giving this a crack today.
Location: The Glasshouse
Equipment: 50# KB, Mk 1 locomotive devices
Apex Hills.
Completed 8 rounds before I was stopped by a dog walker for a conversation (W.T.F!!!)..... although to be fair, I was doing the swings at the top of my drive. Still, completed 8 rounds.
Will be returning to this for sure, and will look to go to my usual hill sprints area for harder variation (a LOT steeper hill....... will need to build up to it )
The video shows the 7th round.......the dog walker was fast approaching
