Training is stress, good stress, but stress nonetheless. The body only has so much capacity for stress, so with the shitty headcold, which 5 weeks later is still effecting my partner, Lorraine, staying with Low Intensity work has been very helpful.

Definitely recommend echinacea for head colds with olbas oil on the pillow at night.

I've been dealing with flu like shit for 1.5 week now.. Still feeling weird and weak. Some mean nasty bug is going around.. Trying train through it but it doesn't feel too nice :D

Equipment: 32kg KB , 24kg KB, AD6

After warm up & movement prep

Set the timer at 30 mins
Fobbit intervals

20 1A Swings at 32kg KB [10/10]
2 min easy AD focus on recovery breathing
20 Snatches at 24kg KB [10/10]
2 min Easy AD focus on recovery.

Repeat until 30 min timer runs out

10 min AD cool down

Very happy with that session.

Location: Kimberley Ski Hill
Equipment: splitboard and Mk. 1 locomotive devices [aka legs]

Wanted a long endurance session with an emphasis on aerobic work...... THAT did not occur..... I did achieve a LONG session mind you..... and it was bloody enjoyable.

Broke out the splitboard for the first time in 3 seasons.

Skinned up the mountain. Lunch and cuppa at the Haus at the summit then snowboarded back to vehicle.

First time I've used the splitboard to climb the ski hill. Feckin hard work.

Amazing what happens when you tell the voice in your head that you're simply not going to consider anything other then getting to the top. The words went from " stop here, board back down, it's good enough for your first attempt" to "just a little further, get to the next rise, take a breather then crack on to the next... look there's the Haus at the top... you've got this"

90 mins later, I'd made it. That was tough, but so enjoyable to reach the end.

Equipment: 2x35# KBs, Suspension Gear [Jungle Gym or TRX], 20" Box

After the heavy work load yesterday, and with the session planned for tomorrow, I decided to simply move today, go light on the volume.... and do a somewhat typical SE circuit.

30 of each movement

Outside Leg Double KB Swing
Bodyrows
Step ups to the box..... 15 each leg, with tension maintained on the working leg throughout, so simply 'kiss' the box with the opposte foot and return it to the deck
Hindu Pushups

Rest up to 30s between movements

Rest up to 90 seconds between rounds

2 Rounds only today.... this was a great session.... most enjoyable

10 min AD cooldown.

Feeling tired today.

Went to the training centre and just played.

Set the timer to 45 mins.

With a 25# KB and a 35# kb.

The aim was to move and flow.

Round the world
Halo
Snatch
Windmill
Circular snatch
Lateral swings
Press
OH Squat (shit at these)

Just a whole bunch of movements put together, any order, any reps, the aim was to continually move.

Used the lighter bell first, then switched to 35# kb.

Threw in sets of Hindu push-ups as well.

Take breaks as and when necessary.

Sit in the bottom of a squat position, building up to 10 mins accumulated at various stages.

Great glow going on, body feels loose.

Knowing when to back of is an admirable skill. Definitely trying to learn this. Glad to see the log updates.

I really envy you getting to cross-country ski! I got to do it as a kid a lot in Wisconsin, but no so much here in Kansas. It's nice to be able to ride my bike year-round, but I mss x-country skiing. However, I'll pass on the bears!
