- "The Relaxation Response" by Herbert Benson - done.
- "Mindfulness in plain English" by Henepola Gunaratana - reading now.
Next on the list:
- "Transcendence: Healing and Transformation Through Transcendental Meditation" by Norman E Rosenthal
- "Buddha in Blue Jeans" by Tai Sheridan.
I find these two are the best so far: "The Relaxation Response" and "Mindfulness in plain English". "Mindfulness.." is brilliant. Friend of mine has recommended Eight Mindful Steps to Happiness by the same author. It is an introduction to the philosophy that underlies the first book. It places the practice in a religious/philosophical context and smooths out the rough edges according to him.
I didn't like "Transcendence: Healing and Transformation Through Transcendental Meditation".. I like The Beatles, but it feels like recruitment into membership club.. Just not my cup of tea..
I am reading "Mind Illuminated" by Culadasa now.
