HIC #23. Meat Eater III

The hardest part of these for me is the high-rep lunges. Wooh! My legs are shaking.

How are you doing your farmer's walks?

I'm doing them like J-Madd suggested in AA. At the end of a Max Strength session, I'll do 100 yards out with a dumbbell in each hand. Rest 2 minutes and then come back, and that's it. What I've noticed so far is that it's very taxing on my grip. At the end of the second round, my forearms are smoked. I only started doing them a few weeks ago, and so I started light at 16kg. Every time that I do them I add 1kg/hand so today I was up to 20kg/hand. When I get to where I can't complete them, I'll take the top weight and knock off 10% and then work up slowly again by adding .5kg per hand.

I am currently doing Max Strength 3x/week, and I tack on either KB swings (working up to 100 continuous swings) or Farmer's walks at the end of each session so it looks like this on a 2 week basis:

MS-KB swings
MS-Farmer's walks
MS-KB swings

MS-Farmer's walks
MS-KB swings
MS-Farmer's walks

I'm considering at some point doing 1-armed farmer's walks to do more oblique work. In that case, I would do 100 yards out with one hand and come back with the other hand. Rest 2 minutes and repeat.
