Re: Major Back Pain While Running - Deadlift?
With all the respect to the comments. I'd strongly recommend seeing specialist (Doc, PT, etc). Major pain should be addressed.

Re: After 40 club
I don't think you have to worry about this unless it's excessive. People tend to overestimate what "excessive" is as it relates to cardio. If you run a few marathons every year, you're probably at risk. Running LSS 30-45 minutes 3-5 x week isn't going to do it and in fact will probably he...

Re: Never Forget
I was on the West Coast at the time. My roommate woke me up screaming: "Turn on the TV". I did. Very close friend of mine worked at the twins. I started to call her right away. She didn't pick up. It turned out that she got sick night before and she took day off. She turned her phone off a...

Re: That One Special Supplement...
This one is probably pretty silly (and I'm not really sure this counts as a supplement), but I really have found it to work. About two years ago I started squeezing the juice of a whole lemon and mixing it with the quart of water I always drank first thing in the morning. I have to say - placebo al...

Re: Squat Substitutes
Foot elevated Bulgarian split squats, especially using slow eccentrics or bottom pauses, are really great. They lower the amount of weight you are using, so they stress the back/hips less, but there also help with imbalances, mobility, and they are very tough. I make them a main event in my cluster...

Re: Is Base Building Mandatory?
Is it Mandatory..... I would say no...... Is it a good idea to do basebuilding first?.......... I would say an emphatic yes. I come from a 25+ year training background and have owned a kettlebell gym for over 7 years....... I would have said I was a pretty fit individual, with a fair knowledge on t...

Re: Diet rules or your quick and dirty rule of thumbs
I follow some sort of auto-regulation. Eating to performance is another name for that. Basically, I regulate my meal pattern depending on the after-training feelings and recovery. Normally, I eat to hunger and try to eat whole foods mostly. Don't restrict any macros and keep it simple. If my recover...

Autoregulation in programming
Nice write-up. Yes, I know, it comes from bodybuilding world. Don't throw rocks at me :D It still is worth of reading, imho. Menno Henselmans isn't that bad after all. I read his stuff once in a while. http://bayesianbodybuilding.com/autoregulation-reactive-deloading-avt/?platform=hootsuite "Tr...
