Re: HRV4TRaining app

Hi Maxrip, Agreed, it’s a great app, especially since the camera makes it very convenient to use! I have used it extensively during my triathlon days (I have about 1500 recordings from that period), and it correlated extremely well with endurance training (the conditioning side). On days I felt grea...

Re: Training for alpine skiing

Thanks for the replies so far! So basically something like standard TB operator with hill sprints/apex (I find these work my quads quite well) and fobbits with goblet squats sets of 10 or so? Then 3 weeks out go to fighter and focus on SE? I am not a good skier, but I enjoy long skiruns so I thought...

Training for alpine skiing

Hello, I was wondering if there are any downhill skiers here? And how you would amend/structure your training for the skiing season? Any special focus (like aerobic work, or sprints, or SE etc?) I am a recreational (beginner-ish) skier so I always wondered how to best prepare for the season? Thanks!...

Re: Swings question

That sounds like a lot of fun :D I will definitely try that! I guess I like to hate swings, so I have decided to just stop making excuses and build them in through HIC or some after a session for a cycle or 2 and just learn by doing rather than thinking I am still learning the details around the TB ...

Re: Swings question

Thanks! I guess I am slightly guilty of paralysis by analysis. What I don’t like about swings after MS is the time it takes... Op allows me to get in and take care of business in around 30-45 minutes, which I appreciate. There is also a bit of a mental aspect, where I somehow don’t feel like ballist...

Swings question

Hello, I need a bit of advice (or confirmation) After having read Ageless Athlete I would like to incorporate swings back into my training. I currently run Op + Black, by the book (SQ/BP/WPU, DL 1x per week) Now I tried to do swings after my MS sessions as recommended in AA, however I actively disli...

Re: Deadlift and Press Cluster

Is there any way you could rig something to hold the barbell where you can get it into a front squat position? Even if in the bottom position?

That would be perfect really, cluster of FS/OHP/PU with DL once a week or so... that would save your back and also you’d have a mass building squat in there?

Re: Apex Hills aka Hills of Vomit aka I thought I was fit

Great minds think alike, I was just about to post the same thing! :D The sprints are bad enough, the swings add a whole other layer on top of it! I had to stop after about 6 rounds (I made noises like having an asthma attack right after the sprints then almost vomitted after the swings). And here I ...

Re: Member Introductions Thread

Hello All, I guess I should start here as a new member and provide a bit of information (warning: brevity is not my strong point, obviously)! 40 years old, father of 1, and generally what you would consider a thin weak guy (think posterchild ectomorph). Also currently no requirement for physical fit...
