Hey guys. Have any of you ever done Dan John's Easy Strength program or more particularly the Even Easier Strength variation that is 5 days of lifting per week? Just curious. I'm still loving TB, but thinking about giving that a run for a couple of months just to see how it goes. The principles seem very similar to TB with even more frequency but at even lower intensities.
If you have, did you do any conditioning alongside it? This is my major hang-up. I don't want to give up conditioning completely for 2 months. Thanks.

TB vs. Easy or Even Easier Strength
Re: TB vs. Easy or Even Easier Strength
I have done ES and variations in that vein (Squat Everyday).
Pros:
You will make PRs.
You feel pretty good overall as no one session is overwhelmingly tough.
Cons:
The 1RM gains don’t seem to stick around, ie rate of detraining is quick. Not sure why tbh.
Hard to fit in conditioning or another sport.
Overall Verdict:
For a all-round athlete I don’t think ES is an evergreen prescription. But always good to try 1 block at least to see how your body reacts to it.

It ain't what you don’t know that gets you into trouble.
It's what you know for sure that just ain’t so.

It would be easy enough to do conditioning alongside it from the standpoint of recovery. You wouldn't have to give up conditioning.

I take it this means that you prefer to TB strength programming to Easy Strength.TBPenguin wrote:Yes. Don't bother.

They are at opposite ends of the spectrum for effectiveness. I would say that if you need a period of lighter lifting and like the idea of more frequent, shorter workouts, run Zulu with a 3-4 lift cluster and a low training max. That would leave you plenty of room for conditioning.mikhou wrote:I take it this means that you prefer to TB strength programming to Easy Strength.TBPenguin wrote:Yes. Don't bother.
