Hi all. What would be the maximum HIC's and E's allowable for Op/ Black? I have been doing 2 Hic's and one E per week. I would like to increase my running by incorporating a 3+ mile run every weekday morning. This run could be ran 'easy' on lifting days and higher tempo for HIC. The book provides minimums but don't see the maximums.
Thanks in advance.

I think you're asking for trouble there.
Weren't we just discussing burnout and plateaus in MS not too long ago?

This is true Wallbilly. I have dropped to a 'training max' for my workouts and dropped the deadlifts for a while. Dropped the caffeine also. All this has made a nice difference in my energy levels. Running has never been much of a problem for me but I have found that my conditioning has dropped as I introduced Op. I would like to regain some of that conditioning whilst continuing to reap the benefits of Op. No harm in giving it a shot at least. I found the maxes in the book since posting...4 HIC's and 1 E max.

J-Madd, my goals are varied. Right now I'm carrying too much fat for my liking (20-25%) and therefore fat reduction is probably primary. This I am addressing primarily with diet but would also like to 'burn the butter' with some running. I am enjoying the strength/muscle gains Op has given me and would like to maintain/improve these whilst dropping fat. Running is also therapeutic for me and it just seems like a great way for me to get my day going. Not sure if I will run 6 days per week but it appears that TB Black accommodates for 4 HICs and 1 E per week if desired. Thanks for your input.

I'd never recommend strongly against doing something that is working for you, especially if it's helping to keep you on track psychologically. I have a similar relationship to endurance training.PeterHealey wrote:J-Madd, my goals are varied. As you know, that much conditioning will slow your strength/muscle progress significantly, but if that's not your priority right now, it's not a real worry. I will note that in my own experience, by backing off a lot of my endurance activities, my body composition really did improve. I got a little heavier, but I was definitely more muscular in appearance.

Thanks for your input J-Madd I will keep that in mind. I may stick with the 2 HIC's and 1 E and maybe run the other 2 days at an E pace for 3 miles just for therapeutic benefits.
