Base building phase, week 3, day 1
SE cluster (KB swings (16 kg), push-ups, squats (10 lbs), pull-ups, back extensions, sit-ups)
2 sets, 20 reps (2/2 reps for pull-ups), 60s rest between exercises, 120s rest between circuits
I didn't get to train 5 days last week, so I'll try to train 6 days this week. I should be fine, but we'll see mid-week. I managed to do my 2 sets of push-ups unbroken, but I'm not sure I'll be able to do it for 3 sets. Also, for pull-ups, I did rest-pause, so 2 reps, 20s rest, then 2 other reps. I think this BB thing is starting to work, as my RHR is in the high 40's, low 50's.
ML's log
Re: ML's log
Base building phase, week 3, day 2
50 minutes LSS elliptical
51:03, avg HR 143 bpm
I was away with the wife this weekend and had to train on the elliptical late tonight. I'm not a runner, but I definitively prefer running outside than inside. 50 minutes on the elliptical felt like forever, even though I was watching Mad men. Another long run is planned for tomorrow.

60 minutes LSS run
59:04, 4.75 miles (12:26 min/mile), avg HR 144 bpm
Weird run. My heart rate was all over the place for the first 30 minutes. I ran my second mile in 13:38 I felt bloated, was cramping a little and my right foot was kind of numb. I'm not too sure what happened, maybe too much caffeine. Oh well, another 50-minute run tomorrow.

Base building phase, week 3, day 4
50 minutes LSS run
50:44, 4.32 miles (11:44 min/mile), avg HR 143 bpm
Best run so far. I changed my route, but I don't think it was necessarily "easier". My heart rate was stable and had a good pace. SE day tomorrow. So far so good for this week, as I'll be training 7 days.

I was feeling nauseous halfway through my second circuit. I really have to stop using caffeine. even though I drink some coffee in the morning, it still affects me several hours later. Recovery run later today.

Base building phase, week 4, day 1
SE cluster (KB swings (16 kg), push-ups, squats (10 lbs), pull-ups, back extensions, sit-ups)
1 sets, 25 reps (4/1 reps for pull-ups), 60s rest between exercises
The push-ups and back extensions were rough. Actually, I regressed in my push-ups, as I had to take a small break around the 20 rep mark... My max is 30 reps But anyways, everything was hard today, even my pull-ups where my max is 6, I struggled with only 4. Finally, I wasn't able to train 6 days last week. I'll combine two workouts together. It's a three-day weekend here so I'll have more time. Can't wait to try a 2h30 ruck. I'll try to maintain a 15-20 mins/mile time (or 9:30-12:30 mins/km).

Re: ML's log
I caught a nasty bug over the weekend. I woke up Sunday morning with a sore throat, a terrible headache and achy joints and muscles. I've been coughing like hell since then. I'll take the week easy and repeat week 4 starting next Saturday. That sucks though, everything was going just fine.
Re: ML's log
So I'm still coughing mucus (same with blowing my nose). I'm just hoping it will stop soon, as I was planning on beginning week 4 of BB this Saturday. I still went for a short run today (31:13, 2.38 miles (13:07 min/mile), avg HR 144 bpm) to see how I feel and surprisingly, it isn't so bad. I went on lunch break at work as opposed to later in the evening. Different route with more hills and definitely hotter (25C/77F but with humidity, it feels 32C/90F).
On another note, I'll start working with someone who will handle my diet. The first few things we will be working on is developping a routine and reducing sugar and salt intake. Can't wait to see the positive impact on my performances. I'll also be tracking calories, just to make sure I don't drop too much weight in the beginning.

Base building phase, week 4, day 1
60 minutes LSS run
1:02:03, 4.59 miles (13:31 min/mile), avg HR 147 bpm
So I'm still sick, but I just wanted to train. It's definitively my worst run so far. It was hot and humid and my heart rate was easily going into the 150's. I had to walk a couple times during the run.

SE cluster (KB swings (16 kg), push-ups, squats (10 lbs), pull-ups, back extensions, sit-ups)

Another sucky training day. The push-ups and back extensions were hard. I can't wait to be 100% healthy again.

60 minutes LSS run
1:01:36, 4.77 miles (12:54 min/mile), avg HR 145 bpm
After years of not running, I'm actually enjoying it. Hoping that running in 32C/90F will make me more heat tolerant.
