Supplements: Base vs Continuation
Just wondering if any of you folks take specific supps for Base that you don't for Continuation and vice versa? Any that you avoid?
Re: Supplements: Base vs Continuation
My regular early morning pre-W:
- BCAA (fasted workouts)
- Creatine
- Caffeine
Additionally, I do take Mg during BB. Oh, and I eat twice more carbs.

Interesting, I was thinking about this the other day....using certain supps for certain protocols.
As it stands, I cycle off creatine every Base. I don't think it helps with aerobic work. I also switch up from a magnesium supplement to a combo mag-potassium to help with electrolyte loss during the frequent long E sessions.
For continuation I get back on creatine, that's really the only change I can think of right now.
Caffeine, of course, is a constant companion year round

Makes sense, Base seems like a natural "off cycle" for the creatine. Creatine helps me with HIC, especially with explosive or speed based work but doesn't do anything for endurance or LISS that I'm aware of.Sorntel wrote: As it stands, I cycle off creatine every Base.
