I'm Mike, 43 yo, married with two kids. Active duty military since 2002.
Have no impressive RM, neither PB times to share with you, but I train since I can remember.
My regular training included kettlebells, clubbells, and bodyweight. When it comes to the latter I'm a big fan of Pull-ups, Push-ups, Dips, and Squats.
The last three months I started considering hybrid training, and so I searched the net on order to find some information about it. Long story short, I found the Tactical Barbell books, and the website. I bought TB1, TB2, TB Mass Protocol, and Green Protocol. I read TB1, then TB2, and want to give a try to one of TB1 templates.
I wish you the best, injury free workouts, and personal best.

Stay Strong.

Mike.
Welcome and good luck with training!

Hi everyone!

My name in Nikos. I am 38 years old. I live in Greece.
I've known about TB or quite some time now. I have no connection to law enforcement/army but having read the books , i just like the simplicity and straightforward approach to things.

Just started my log a couple of days ago.

I think that's it for now.

Have a nice one!
Cheers!

New TB practitioner. Rich, age 64, semi-retired intel analyst. Police Chaplain badge CP335.

A few years ago I trained at a gym run by a Westside guy, Justin. Great guy, great workouts. I was doing well and getting strong. Unfortunately, Justin took his own life a couple of years ago, and his gym closed. Westside method was great, but I've got old damage to both shoulders, and I was taking too Ibu. Kind of floundered around the gym until last fall. I kinda went back to the future, looking up Bill Starr's old book/method The Strongest Shall Survive. I had a coach in the 80s that used his 5x5 methods. I was looking for a good way to keep lifting but smartly reduce the overall volume.

Somehow I stumbled onto TB, and the "minimum effective dose" seemed like just the ticket. Been doing 3 movements per session, 4 sessions per week for about 6 weeks now. Strength is improving (gotta be patient at my age), and my shoulders are generally only mildly annoyed. I found it best to do bench and squats on different days, since both tax my shoulders. Arthritis is one sorry ass monkey on my back!

I love that I can work the weights, then have some juice left for a long ruck or some HIIT work.
