center axis relock

Post by Tym87 »

Has anyone ever been trained on the center axis relock method of shooting? I have not, but I've read about it and want to know how prevalent or useful it actually is.

Seemed to work well for John Wick... Sorry couldn't resist. Used to do some competitive shooting. I trained with some former SOF guys, I've never seen anyone utilize that technique before. Not to say it doesn't work though.

It's not used by any serious unit or shooter (competitive or squared-away tactician.)

I'm vaguely familiar with the internet debates about it, so I want to say this. The number of people that can say "I've trained SOF" is in the thousands. I've been to some classes or been taught by some guys and afterwards my teammates and I said "That's f-ing stupid. I'm not using that" and we quickly forgot all about it.

I'm not going to waste my time googling the CAR guy, but IIRC his claim was that he taught SOF. Maybe he did. Doesn't mean they use CAR now or even then.

Mildly necro-posting. I debated whether to even put this thread on the front page. :)

Thanks. To be honest, I thought about having the post deleted but let it sit here to hide away haha. I've never met anyone at all that has ever used it and was just curious if it was even a "thing". I'm glad you posted. It seems like if it was as practical and cutting edge as it was claimed then people would have picked up on it.
