I had an obstacle course type fitness test that I completed about a week ago. As I was going into it I had multiple bouts of sickness and have been taking some time off to recover. My HRV has remained extremely low, so I finally just called it and decided to return to training.
The plan is to take it reasonably easy with some basic strength work, predominantly LSS based conditioning with the occasional sprint session thrown in. I have another lot of fitness testing coming up in a few weeks and full rest doesn't seem to have helped my recovery. I will be returning to my usual training but managing intensity as I attempt to rebalance my HRV and get back to full training.
