The forum has seemed to be down so playing catch up with my log.

BJJ Gi midday

Side control escapes

16/1/2021

BJJ Gi Midday

Side control escapes and focused rolling

Pm
LSS trail run 50 min (dirt roads only)
7.82km
Avg Pace:6.24 per km
Avg HR :145 bpm

I have missed 2 sessions this week unfortunately due to work. 1 LSS and 1 SE. I did make 4 BJJ sessions so there are some positives at least as that is my focus. Bit dissapointed to miss some sessions but overall I don't think it will impact my training to heavily in the grand scheme of things.

Base build Week 4
Session 1
Strength Endurance

1x50
1. 10kg dumbbells x 25 es
2. 2x10kg dumbbells x25 es
3.2x10kg dumbbells x25 es
4.16kg Kettlebell x 25 es
5. 50 reps bodyweight
60-90 secs rest between exercises, 3 min rest between rounds

LSS Run 9.31 km
Avg Pace:6.27 per km
Avg HR: 147bpm

My sleep was not great last night so definitely feeling a bit run down. I am currently on AM shifts which means my training suffers.
I combined two sessions again as this seems to work best for me at the start of the week to avoid missing runs.

I grinded through the set of 50 today, but next week is definitely going to hurt. I am on nightshift so will probably not get much BJJ in which might work out good in a way. The body is definitely feeling the higher reps towards the end of base build and I am looking forward to the swap back to strength training and HIC. My runs do feel great though so the improvement is definitely there.

Am
Lss Trail run
8.86 km
Avg Pace:6:47 per km
Avg Hr:150bpm

I took last night off BJJ to recover and I am feeling pretty good today. I may go in tonight to make the session up before hitting the double on Thursday. I will be having an ice bath midday tomorrow also between sessions as the combination off the final weeks of basebuild and BJJ training is taking a bit of a toll.

I am on nightshift next week so BJJ training will be 1-2 sessions at most. This also accidently coincides with my high volume week of SE. I am feeling a bit of dread with 3x50 on the horizon, but I will just warm up well and embrace the grind.

I moved my big SE session up to yesterday because I am going into nightshift next week and had more chance to get it down as complete session yesterday. I did it fasted straight away in the morning and grinded my way through. I am definitely feeling a bit rough today, but I jumped in an ice bath straight after which I believed helped.

It took me on average about 30 mins each round by taking the max rest in between. I felt pretty good during it besides my last 15 reps of exercise 5 were I had to stop for a period as I felt I would spew. My next run through base building I will ignore the minimum breaks and try and see if I can improve time wise by resting less.

I really enjoyed the longer cluster and definitely noticed improvement throughout the training. Exercise 5 really has improved with me pumping out multiple sets of 15-10 in quick succession yesterday.
